MTA Italy launches Travel Agent booking incentives

The Malta Tourism Authority’s Italian office has this week announced a booking incentive which is being made available to all Italian Travel Agents.The incentive consists of a voucher, which is redeemable at all bookstores of the national chain ‘La Feltrinelli’.

To promote this initiative, the MTA has teamed up with the major Italian leisure tour operators that promote and sell individual packages to Malta all year round. The participating Tour Operators have responded very well to this innovative idea and have put together specially priced weekend packages, as well as themed packages related to culture, wellness and sport. To participate in this initiative, interested travel agents must register online in the MTA’s Italian agents’ training programme: ‘Malta Master Game’.

The vouchers will be awarded to every Travel agent that sells a participating Tour Operator package consisting of flight and hotel, with a minimum of 3 nights for 2 persons or more. The vouchers are rewarded only if the clients’ arrival dates are between 1st February and 28th March 2010.

The electronic vouchers will be sent by email to all winning travel agents at the end of the promotion, and may be used to buy books, music, electronic items and other useful items. This is the first time a booking incentive for travel agents has been introduced with real "cash" rewards, to stimulate sales in the low season.
