Extensive restoration works and cleaning over the past months have brought this once dead space back to life. With landscaping, seating and fountains the square is now an oasis for tired shoppers who can sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful architecture surrounding this square.
Celebrations were staged to mark the opening of this beautiful space to the public, with a week of events staged in St George's Square. The Malta Tourism Authority took part via the In Guardia re-enactors on Monday 7th December and with a re-enactment of the victorious battles of Le Panto and Patros in 1603, on Tuesday 8th.
