7 Smart cars zipping around Paris with MTA liveries promoting the 2010 Air Malta Special package

MTA and Air Malta in SMART Paris Promotion

Between the 12 and 14 of November, the Malta Tourism Authority together with Air Malta organized an innovative Malta promotion around the streets of Paris. 7 ‘Smart’ cars wrapped with images of Malta were driven around the streets and boulevards of Paris for three days, promoting the Maltese islands.

The promotion targetted the principal working districts of Paris, with each car making six prescribed stops per day. The goal of this exercise was to promote travel to Malta in the final two months of 2010 with Air Malta’s special tariff of €149 including taxes.

The drivers who were dressed in caps and jackets with the MTA and Air Malta logo, distributed flyers at every stop. This initiative was taken on with the view to market Malta in an original and innovative way, giving the Islands the best possible exposure in this important source market. The MTA’s director, Southern Europe, Simon Kamsky, commented that: "The Street marketing action in Paris allowed Malta to communicate its message in a different and more original manner, which was also cost effective and targeted".
