The MTA attracting tourism from Dubai
The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), in collaboration with the Consulate General of Malta in Dubai, unveiled a series of promotional activities with a main scope of attracting further tourism from the United Arab Emirates. This was announced by Mr. Josef Formosa Gauci, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority during a road show that is being conducted in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. A series of successful seminars titled “Malta – The Mediterranean’s best kept secret” were presented to the trade in the past few days.
The presentations were both attended by a large number of delegates related to the tourism industry. These included travel agents, tour operators, and airline representatives
During the presentations Mr. Formosa Gauci committed to the “proactive support that MTA will be giving in the region via a representative office that the Malta Tourism Authority has recently established with the support of the Consulate General of Malta and also Malta Enterprise. We have a full program of initiatives for the next 12 months and we are sure that with a foot on the ground we can achieve our targets”

The Consul General of Malta, Anthony Tabone said, “This road show is only a beginning of many events that we look forward to in the UAE. Malta is easily accessible with daily flights out of Dubai with Emirates Airline and offers an extremely affable environment, welcoming tourists of various nationalities. The business and commercial side has already been witnessing a number of achievements, and we are sure that now with the presence of Malta Tourism rep office, we will shortly see great interest for Malta as a destination for travel from the Gulf.
During the presentation Emirates Airlines launched a very attractive all inclusive package that will run for 4 months out of Dubai with a scope of attracting further tourists to Malta during the winter months. This is done in conjunction with a local five star hotel.
