Nintendo launches new game - “Wii Sports Resort” - in Gozo
World renowned games-console producers, Nintendo, launched their brand new game for the Wii console across Europe on Friday the 24 July: Wii Sports Resort.
Hosted journalists practised sports both on the Nintendo Wii console and at the beach.

This exciting game offers a great bundle of funsports, like power cruising, wakeboarding, canoeing, a seaplane ride, table tennis, basketball, cycling, frisbee, archery and swordplay… all of this situated on a tropical island in a 'holiday atmosphere', which players can enjoy without leaving home. Malta and Gozo, as a holiday destination are able to offer all of these games in real life as well as the atmosphere conveyed. In view of this Nintendo chose to organize the press launch for this game on the Maltese islands, more precisely on the island of Gozo.
The event also included a live demonstration of sword fighting.

To this end journalists from the Benelux and Portugal were flown down to Malta and Gozo to experience the wide array of sports and activities featured in the new Wii Sports Resort game but, of course, in real time! The media contingent could be found jetskiing, canoing, frisbeeing, taking a seaplane and even experiencing a sword-fight demonstration in period costumes, amongst others. Partnering Nintendo in this initiative were the Malta Tourism Authority, Air Malta and the Hotel Kempinski San Lawrenz in Gozo
