Children’s tourism campaign “Apprezza” launched
The Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Dr Mario de Marco, recently launched a tourism awareness campaign for children – “Apprezza”. Attending this launch at the Malta Tourism Authority Head Office, were the children who appeared in the video advert produced for this campaign.
Dr de Marco distributed certificates of participation to the children and told them that he was proud of their contribution for the campaign. The idea for this campaign stemmed from the National Plan for Tourism launched 2 years ago.
The campaign is aimed at raising awareness in children about our unique history, culture, heritage and natural environment. This is achieved by cultivating an interest in children, who are powerful vehicles for change. The Parliamentary Secretary said that there a number of initiatives in this campaign which are focused on children as research has shown that they are open to learning and able to influence the adults around them. The campaign also aims to educate children that tourism is not merely of interest to those employed in the sector but is a national concern which affects everybody in one way or another.
Dr de Marco thanked the schools involved in the advert, for their contribution in educating children that tourism is important to all Maltese and Gozitans.

Imnedija l-Kampanja għat-turiŻmu ‘Apprezza’ bis-sehem ta’ tfal minn diversi skejjel
Is-Segretarjat Parlamentari għat-Turiżmu fl-Uffiċċju tal-Prim Ministru nieda l-kampanja għat-turiżmu ‘APPREZZA’ fil-preżenza tat-tfal li ħadu sehem f’riklam li se jintuża fl-istess kampanja.
Is-Segretarju Parlamentari Dr Mario de Marco, wara li qassam ċertifikati ta’ rikonoxximent lit-tfal għall-kontribut tagħhom, qal li kien verament kburi b’dak li rnexxielhom jagħmlu dawn it-tfal. Huwa għamel referenza għall-fatt li l-idea ta’ din il-kampanja ħarġet mill-Pjan Nazzjonali tat-Turiżmu li l-Gvern fassal sentejn ilu bil-kollaborazzjoni u bis-sehem tal-imsieħba kollha fit-turiżmu.
“L-għan aħħari jibqa’ dak li nkomplu nżidu l-għarfien li aħna bħala Maltin għandu jkollna tal-wirt storiku tagħna u tal-ambjent naturali uniku ta’ pajjiżna. Dan qed isir billi nrawwmu fil-ġenerazzjonijiet iż-żgħar l-interess lejn pajjiżhom stess u kif ukoll billi nispjegawlhom b’mod ċar kif it-turiżmu huwa importanti għal kulħadd u mhux biss dawk li jaħdmu direttament fih,” kompla Dr de Marco.
Huwa żied jgħid li hemm diversi inizjattivi maħsubin bħala parti minn din il-kampanja li qed tiffoka fuq it-tfal u li dan qed isir għaliex ir-riċerka u l-esperjenza urew li t-tfal huma ferm aktar miftuħin sabiex mhux biss jitgħallmu huma, imma wkoll jgħinu sabiex l-adulti jinbidlu għall-aħjar fil-mod kif jitkellmu u jaġixxu.
Dr de Marco temm il-kelmtejn tiegħu billi rringrazzja lit-tfal u l-għalliema tal-Kulleġġ Santa Tereża, Chiswick House School u St Martin’s College talli permezz tagħhom se jitwassal il-messaġġ lit-tfal Maltin u Għawdxin li huma għandhom sehem importanti fl-industrija tat-turiżmu tagħna.
