Mr. Sam Mifsud MTA chairman, presents sponsorship cheque to Mr Maurice de Giorgio president of the Foundation

MTA renews “benefactor sponsorship” of Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti.

Last week at the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) head office in Valletta, the 9th consecutive renewal of MTA’s “benefactor sponsorship” of Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti took place.

In a brief presentation, MTA Chairman Mr Sam Mifsud presented the sponsorship cheque to Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti’s President, Mr Maurice de Giorgio. Mr Sam Mifsud praised the valid work carried out by the Foundation and said that, “The Foundation is instrumental in continuing to strengthen Malta’s image overseas as a destination with a unique heritage”.

In fact late last year in November, Palazzo Falson which is run by the Foundation, was the subject of a piece written by Ms Penny Visman. Ms Visman a travel writer entered her piece for the competition organised by the British Guild of Travel Writers (BGTW) and came runner up for the Award of Best Overseas Project; opened in the past 2 years. Palazzo Falson was the only European site to make it to the finals. This site also won the STAR award, which is organised by the MTA for Best Visitor Attraction.

Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti’s President, Maurice de Girogio thanked the MTA for its continuous support and said that, “It is only thanks to benefactors like the MTA that the Foundation can continue with its work”.
