  • Parliamentary Secretary de Marco visits hotels and restaurants to exchange new year's greetings

    On the morning of New Year's eve, parliamentary secretary for tourism, Dr. Mario de Marco, upheld what is becoming a regular annual tradition, that of visiting hotels and restaurants on New year's eve in order to exchange greetings with the tourism industry's front liners.

  • Students increase Tourism awareness

    As part of the activities organised by the Business Studies Department at St. Theresa College Girls’ Junior Lyceum, Mriehel, officials from the Malta Tourism Authority were invited to conduct an educational session on ‘Tourism’, for students taking Business Studies as an option.

    On the 12th of December, the Hon Dolores Cristina, the Minister for Education and Culture, launched the project by Ruben Zahra. Mr Zahra is the brainchild behind reviving traditional Maltese Instruments in a way relevant to today.

    Following a visit to Palazzo Falson, organized by the Malta Tourism Authority in January 2008, by a large group of members from The British Guild of Travel Writers (BGTW), one member of the group, Ms Penny Visman, decided to make Palazzo Falson the subject of her entry for The BGTW Award for Best Overseas Project.

  • Unique Maltese artefacts and Malta Experience make waves in France

    On 26th November the French tourism trade, which included tour operators, travel agents and journalists were invited to view the exhibition ‘Between the Battlesword and the Cross: Masterpieces of the Armoury of Malta’.

  • Soccer team from Sunderland's first overseas tour

    Malta was chosen as a venue due to cheap flights and good climate. The quick response by our designated tour operator meant that Sassco were confident in his ability. The opponents, hotel and the venue were all arranged by Pierre Azzopardi, the tour operator. It was an ideal situation having a person on the ground in Malta with the contacts.

  • Get a life in Tourism

    During a three day career exhibition held between the 17th and 19th November, a number of stakeholders from the hospitality industry were available to interact with students, giving day to day experiences of their life in tourism. This three day event was organised by St Aloysius School which saw the participation of the Malta Tourism Authority.

    The Gozo Youth Wind Band & Orchestra is up for a busy schedule during the festive period. In fact, the Youth Band & Orchestra is engaged in 4 events with a possibility of an additional concert.
