Sur la Route de Malte - From Le Lavandou to Malta

For the third time, 17 sailing boats, from 10 to 18 meter length, left the town of Le Lavandou on the French Riviera on 7th July to reach Gozo on Thursday 17th July and Malta on Friday 18th July.

All started in Le Lavandou with a Malta week where an exhibition of Maltese photos was held in the town hall. Both the exhibition and the sailing race were advertised on outdoor public posters.

Two presentations of Malta as a tourist destination were given to the general public and to the sailors participating in the race. The eve of the departure a dinner was given to the sailors on the harbour. The boats left Le Lavandou on Monday 7th July morning.

In Malta, the sailing boats will berth at Sliema Creek, participants will visit Malta on two excursions, one in Gozo and one in Mdina and the Three Cities. The prize giving ceremony will be held at hotel Waterfront followed by a pasta party.

We wish a “bon vent” to all boats participating.
