Joseph Calleja - Luciano Pavarotti tribute concert

Last year saw the demise of one of classical music's greats - Luciano Pavarotti. It was therefore a very befitting choice by Malta's own favourite tenor, Joseph Calleja to dedicate his local concert on the 12th July, to Pavarotti.

In a concert staged in the beautiful Palace Square in Valletta, Joseph Calleja treated the audience to no less than twelve classical favourites, with a strong focus on Verdi who dominated most of the first half and Puccini in the second half.

Joseph Calleja's beautifully melodic, yet powerful voice resonated across the square and round the adjacent streets, bringing Valletta alive in a hauntingly beautiful manner

Calleja was accompanied by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, under the able direction of Maestro Brian Schembri, soprano, NataliyaKovaova and Baritone, George Petean.
