Victoria gets first Audio Information Panel
Gozo features over 30 sites within the Citadel and the centre of Victoria with a range of Audio Information Panels (AIPs) in three different languages; English, Italian and German. The response by visitors and locals was immediate and the latter commented on the needfulness of this panel. It was also well received by the monti hawkers which hailed the panel as a useful source of information for tourists.

The main basic elements of every AIP contain a detailed city map, high quality audio clips in up to nine different languages, an LED system which help users to find their way through the city.
The main basic elements of every AIP contain a detailed city map, high quality audio clips in up to nine different languages, an LED system which help users to find their way through the city. An AIP has the ability to suggest a tour around the city by highlighting various sites worthy of a visit. Each AIP automatically collects detailed information each time it is used by logging the site, language, date and time – data which in turn is used as an accurate research tool to monitor the habits and behaviour of visitors.
The aim of everyone committed in offering tourists a great experience, providing accurate historical information has always been vital. I-squared has taken this issue a step further when it launched its new product range of Audio Information Panels (AIPs).
The AIPs bring new quality and reliability in providing information in a visual as well as acoustic form. The AIPs give a new dimension to street furniture due to their modern design and state-of-the-art technologies that are attractive for tourists and locals alike.

Inauguration of the first AIP in Gozo
The first AIP was inaugurated at Independence Square in Victoria, Gozo on Wednesday 25th June 2008. Amongst the guests present for the ceremony in front of the Banca Giuratale were the mayor of Victoria Mr. Robert Tabone, the director of i-squared Mr. Roderick Spiteri, a number of councillors and the historian Fr. In his speech, Mr. Tabone, mayor of Victoria said that he aims to implement a number of projects in order to promote a heritage trail with the various historical sites of the city. The Audio Information Panel is an important step towards this direction as it forms part of this holistic plan. Mr. Spiteri, director of i-squared commented that this is the beginning of a series of future project within Malta and Gozo. He also made remarks about the strong cooperation which i-squared has built with the local council during the last months and thanked all those involved in this project. The AIP was then blessed by Fr. Dr. Joseph Bezzina. After the ceremony, the mayor and other guests took it in turns to try the AIP.
