DR MARIO DE MARCO VISITS ISLE OF MTV SET UP

On the 23rd June Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism Dr Mario De Marco, paid a visit to the set of the stage area and surroundings of the Isle of MTV Malta Special. Jane Fraser from MTV was on hand to explain what they want to achieve with this year’s stage; something cool, fantastical and vibrant with fresh summer colours. Ms Fraser said that last year’s Isle of MTV, Malta has raised the Islands’ Profile as a cool young destination, as from the MTV websites they have seen increased curiosity and interest.

This is in the end why MTA chose to associate Malta with the Isle of MTV special for the next 4 years. Dr De Marco stated that he is happy that Malta is associated with MTV and that we are continuing to build on last year’s success. Music he said “is the best way to communicate, especially with young people”. Dr De Marco also made an appeal for the (general) public to make use of the Public transport, which will be continuing the service till 01.00 hrs as will the Sliema to Marsamxett (return) ferry. He concluded by asking all those who attend the party to respect the surrounding environment and the residents who are generous enough to host such an event.
