Deutsche Welle filming again in Malta

Deutsche Welle TV visited the Maltese shores again from the 15th to the 18th May for a film shooting. This time, Deutsche Welle TV filmed three different stories which will then be featured in their programme “Euromaxx”.

The first part of the filming focused on the German star chef Rainer Mitze, who was appointed recently by as Malta’s culinary ambassador in Germany. Deutsche Welle TV sent Rainer Mitze on a culinary tour through Malta and was filmed baking a Maltese loaf together with Maltese bakers at a bakery in Qormi.

Further to that, Mitze was filmed during a cooking session with six language students from all over the world at his cooking college at Razzett L’Antik in Qormi. The young students showing that Malta is the perfect place to learn English, enjoyed cooking a Maltese rabbit stew with Mr. Mitze and practising their English at the same time. Mitze was also filmed when meeting Sam and Matty Cremona, the Maltese olive oil and food experts. He met them at their home in Wardija. There, Cremona explained the history of Maltese olive oil and talked about the PRIMO project. Together with the Cremonas, Mitze prepared a traditional Ħobża biż-Żejt for Deutsche Welle TV.

While at Mdina, Mitze was filmed drinking a Kinnie at Bastion Square, at sunset. He recommended the audience to come to Malta as soon as possible to enjoy the fantastic cuisine and enjoy the unique heritage of the islands.

In addition, Deutsche Welle TV filmed a stunning apartment in Sliema for their home deco/architecture programme “ambiente” and portrayed restaurant “Ta’ Frenc” in Gozo for the programme “à la carte” featuring exceptional restaurants in Europe.
