Malta Music Week and MTV line-up announced

In a press-conference held at the Excelsior hotel on the 21st May, the official launching of the Malta Music Week celebrating the Isle of MTV, Malta, music event, took place. Speculation about the MTV line-up was finally put to rest with the confirmed line-up being announced by Mr Kevin Drake, Director Communications and PR at the Malta Tourism Authority, the partners for this event. The line-up includes Enrique Iglesias who needs no introductions, and upcoming stars, which MTV sees as the record breakers in the next months, the Kooks, N*E*R*D of Pharrell Williams fame, and Lady Gaga a budding performer who has taken the US by storm.

The Malta Music Week 2008 will be featuring

International DJs and Dance Acts

Filo & Peri – America’s dynamic production team and DJs, Filo & Peri with their latest epic, peak-time main-room, techno-trance stomper “THE ANTHEM”. Friday 20th June – Gianpula, Rabat

Definitely Malta’s largest and most famous outdoor clubbing venue. Fridays at Gianpula is the highlight of Malta’ summer clubbing season. With 3 different dance floors, Gianpula definitely offers the biggest dance floor hits and the finest and latest dance cuts for a pure typical Mediterranean hot summer night out.

Saturday 21st June– La Grotta, Xlendi Gozo

Regarded as many as one of the most beautiful open air clubs in the Mediterranean, with its dramatic backdrop of Xlendi Valley and its history of great parties, La Grotta is by far the clubbing sensations of the Maltese Islands. With its amazing cave and wicked atmosphere, this venue is a must for anyone visiting the island of Gozo… and definitely not to be missed during the Malta Music Week.

Sunday 22nd June – Amazonia Beach Club and Bugibba Bay

Set in one of Malta’s most popular resort towns, the Bugibba coastline takes in some of the islands’ best open sea views and a vista over St.Paul’s islands having one of the nicest sunsets in Malta. Amazonia Beach Club is a pure chill-out lido with various pools and amazing clear blue sea. Featuring special live act Alexandra Prince – Diva of House Music.

Monday 23rd June – Paceville, St. Julians

Sitting on the hill between Spinola Bay and St.Georges Bay, Paceville is the heart of Malta’s nightlife. There is a good mix of venues on offer ranging from hip hop and R&B, Latin to a wide range of dance and chart sounds.

Tuesday 24th June – Bugibba Square

One of Malta’s most popular tourist resorts. The coastline offers some of the island’s best open sea views. There is a good mixture of bars, clubs and eateries to while away the time.
