MTA at Cannes fair
The Malta Tourism Authority participated for the first time in the MIPTV Fair held in Cannes earlier this month. The MTA had the possibility to participate under the EU’s Umbrella Stand. MTA’s aim is to attract television programmes/fiction to come to shoot in Malta featuring Malta as Malta. Contacts meetings with various popular TV stations were made. Incentives offered by MTA for producers interested to film in Malta were discussed.
MIPTV attracts production houses and producers from the television world. Around 4,000 companies from 92 countries took part in this fair. 12,000 delegates attended MIPTV, including: Sony Pictures TV, Warner Bros, BBC, RAI Trade, Mediaset, France Television, RDF, ARD, RTVE and Granada International. It’s the ideal fair for negotiating co-productions and partnerships.
