Cooking Cup Finals 2008

Malta Tourism Authority in Germany has kicked off a culinary project. The Cooking Cup 2008 is an annual nationwide cooking competition in Germany for hobby chefs and Malta will be the host country for the finals in November 2008. The host country of last year’s “Cooking Cup” finals was South Africa. This year, the focus will be on Mediterranean cuisine.

This project was started by Germany´s most upscale and glossy food Magazine "Elle Bistro". The competition runs from January 08 (first introduction of new cooking cup in the magazine) until December 08 and contains 30 local cooking competitions in Germany and a final in Malta. The competition is accompanied by a wide media campaign in print, online and TV as well as additional cross promotions with other co-sponsors - this year's sponsors include Kleenex, Citröen, Freixenet and Bertolli. This year-long project will generate a high of attention for the finals destination - Malta. Partners in Malta are Air Malta, Excelsior Grand Hotel and Select Holidays.
