Malta at Neckermann promotions in Poland

Last year Neckermann Polska flew 136,471 tourists to Malta, which makes 11% increase comparing to 2006. The seats in charter flights were sold in 88% and Neckermann plans to increase this figure in 2008. Gross income for 2007 is 14.6 million PLN. Malta will be offered as a leisure and English language destination and excellent place for honeymoons.

For 2008 Neckermann contracted 31% more seats in planes, resulting in an additional 192 thousand seats for sale. The flights will operate from the following cities in Poland: Gdansk, Katowice, Krakow, Poznan, Wroclaw, Warszawa and new routes from Bydgoszcz, Lodz and Szczecin.

Marion Kloster, Executive Assistant for International Marketing at Fremdenverkehrsamt Malta, participated in three summer exhibitions of Neckermann Polska in Warsaw, Poznan and Krakow. An extensive set of quality banners and the Malta brochures boosted Malta's visibility. Three, one week vouchers made one of the best prizes for participants and promoted Malta as a quality destination.

The next promotion took place at the Warsaw Sheraton Hotel during the Gala of the Polish Travel Agency "Polish Travel Quo Vadis" on January 11, 2208. Malta brochures were distributed among 300 participants. There were hoteliers from all over Poland, travel agents, Athe ambassador of Bielorussia, journalists and TV crews. Mr Dariusz Palecki of PTQV visited Malta last September and Maltese hotels have been introduced in a very popular internet hotel booking system run by Polish Travel www.odkryjpolske.pl/.

Two vouchers for one week stay in Malta for two people kindly offered by MTA and SMS Tourism were presented to the winners by Marion Kloster who had the opportunity to promote Malta on stage.
