The exhibition was organized by Prof Dr Albert J. Driesel from Kronberg in co-operation with the Malta Tourism Authority’s office in Frankfurt.

Prof. Driesel got to know the young artists Christopher and Anthony during a private holiday in Gozo, fell in love with their works, brought some pieces home to Germany, kept in touch and made friends with the young Gozitans. End of last year Prof. Dr. Driesel started to work on the idea of an exhibition together with the Malta Tourism Authority team in Frankfurt. A Kronberg travel agency even set up a special travel offer to the Maltese islands on the occasion of the exhibition.

About 120 guests as well as local media attended the exclusive opening of an exhibition with art from Gozo in Kronberg, a city close to Germany’s financial hub Frankfurt. The event was also honored by the attendance of Malta’s Ambassador to Germany, H.E. Dr. John Paul Grech from Berlin, Mrs. Hannetraud Schultheiss, one of Malta’s Honorary Consuls in Germany, the Mayor of Kronberg, Mr. Wilhelm Kress as well as Joseph Galea, Director International Marketing MTA and Anke Blecher, Marketing Manager MTA Frankfurt.

Within the framework of an exclusive reception at the Kronberg town hall, the honor was bestowed upon the Ambassador, the Honorary Consul and the two artiststs to sign the city’s “Golden Book”.

During the exhibition opening, the large gathering present did not only have the opportunity to admire the exceptional works of art and talk to the artists, but were also informed by a presentation about Malta’s and Gozo’s cultural and touristic highlights while enjoying typical Maltese specialties and drinks.
