  • Malta makes a huge impact at the ‘British guild of travel writers awards’ dinner

    The Malta Tourism Authority, together with Malta's national carrier, Air Malta and the Hotel Fortina Spa Resort, sponsored the prestigious British Guild of Travel Writers Annual Awards Dinner, held at the Savoy Hotel, London on Sunday 11 November. The event was a great success and placed a huge spotlight on Malta being the ‘best kept secret of the Mediterranean’.

  • Malta: A Smart Choice

    Between the 27 and 29 of November 2007, the Malta Tourism Authority together with numerous local service providers, took part in a specialised annual fair in Barcelona, Spain.  The EIBTM is a fair targeted at promoting coutries as venues for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events or MICE.  This year was the largest presence Malta has ever had in this fair.  The outcomes from such fairs are that Malta is chosen repeatedly as a favoured country for MICE by top brands and to host prestigious events.

  • Malta fields largest presence at business travel fair in Spain

    The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) fielded its largest presence to date at EIBTM - the global meeting and incentives fair, held in Barcelona Spain between November 27 and 29.

  • MTA Conference on HR Best Practices in Tourism

    The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) recently hosted a half day conference at the Hilton, Malta where the findings of a study on successful HR practices in the local tourism industry, were presented. The study was conducted by MISCO following interviews with personnel in the tourism industry involved in staff recruitment and development, travel and catering services. This conference also served to exchange information and provide insight into successful HR practices in the tourism industry.

  • Neckermann Austria Brochure Launch in Malta

    On the November 22, Neckermann Austria held a press conference at the Hotel Intercontinental in St Julians, launching their summer 2008 brochures with a selection of top journalists from the Austrian tourism trade and consumer press.

    MTA set up a stand at the 10th edition of the Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo Archeologico which was held in Paestum near Salerno, Italy from 15-18 November 2007.

  • Juventus Press Conference

    At a press conference held on the 29 November 2007, Dr. Tabone of Renaissance Productions released more details of the Juve training camp and visit. Tickets are already on sale from the Valletta and Juventus supporters club and from Go outlets as of Monday.

  • SAT2000 covering Malta

    A TV crew from SAT consisting of Sergio Canelles, producer, Giancarlo Mogavero, camerman and Davide Cattoni, photographer came to Malta (hosted by MTA) from 12th till 17th October 2006. Apart from filming various historical places they also filmed the first Notte Bianca held in Valletta. They interviewed the Prime Minister Dr. Gonzi at his office in Castille.
