Malta wins accolades for its new, hip Mediterranean image

World Travel Market

On the 11th of November, a Press trip from Malta is flying to London under the auspices of the MTA. The journalists will be attending the World Travel Market, the largest tourism related fair available to the Industry.  The World Travel Market taking place from the 12th to 15th November, is an annual event where exhibitors from around the globe vie for attention, make contacts and market themselves to the thousands of visitors with a stake in the market.

This year’s focus at WTM is on IT in the Industry, Health Tourism and Corporate Social Responsibility, emphasising care of the environment by the Industry.  These are three sectors of interest to Malta’s Tourism Industry and in which a huge investment is being made to promote Malta as an Island, with a tourism product, which lives up to the expectations of a modern travel market.  In fact, Malta has been called an e-pioneer in on-line marketing.

The journalists will be attending various press seminars and presentations, will have the opportunity to have a Q & A session with the Hon Minister Francis Zammit Dimech, and talk to Mr Berthold Holly the man behind Malta’s resounding success with Expedia on line.

This year’s WTM has a special highlight for Malta since there will be the presentation of the award for The Best Singles destination.
