  • Rolex Middle Sea Race

    The 28th edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race drew to a close with numerous crescendos of noise, entirely in keeping with a race that has rightfully claimed its place in the pantheon of offshore classics. The noise started at 1.45AM as the final yacht crossed the line in Marsamxett Harbour and ended with the victor receiving his spoils at the prize giving held this afternoon overlooking an ever changing seascape that reflected the essence of this wonderful race.

  • Grand Prix de Malte

    Over 70 classic cars have been gracing the capital city for a week of activities, culminating in a racing competition on over 4 kilometers of the panoramic Valletta ring-road.

  • Maltese Musicians in Theatre of the Estates in Prague

    On November 11 ProMusika led by Sarah Spiteri and featuring Lydia Caruana will give a concert at the Theatre of the Estates in Prague. This visit is another example of close collaboration between Teatru Manoel and Prague National Theatre.

  • Tenor Joseph Calleja celebrates important debut anniversary at the Astra Theatre in Gozo.

    Ten years from his professional debut Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja returns to the Mediterranean island of Gozo (Malta), in the role of Macduff in Macbeth on Thursday 25 and Sunday 27 October.

    With Lm60,000 (€139,762) allocated to the embellishment works, Sta Margherita Gardens now boast new paving, lighting and landscaping. The garden also features new garden furniture, and playing equipment as well as a a CCTV system for security.

  • The 2007 Malta Military Tattoo

    The Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre saw a weekend of military precision drills with the Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, Dutch Pipes and Drums with Highland Dancers, Durham ACF Borneo Band, Wallace Pipes and Drums Band and Malta's own 1st Hamrun Scouts Duke of Argyll's Own Band, EnKor Choir Malta, Malta Police Band, Malta Police Precision Team, Armed Forces of Malta Band. The annual event is organised by Stardom Promotions Agency, with this year's sponsors including: Ministry for Tourism & Culture Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre, Metropole Hotel, Royal Netherlands Embassy and Russian Centre for Science & Culture.

  • MTA Promotes Corporate Social Responsibility

    Recently the Marketing Support and Development Directorate and the Malta Tourism Authority marketing office in London, organised a one day seminar which focused on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The scope of such seminars is to bring to the fore current international issues and trends which will invariably affect the local industry. This particular seminar was targeted at the MICE sector in tourism.

  • 60km panoramic course for cruise cyclists

    Over 350 cyclists landed in Malta on Sunday the October 21, taking a panoramic route of 60km, including a stop at Buskett for refreshments. The event was covered by a TV crew for Sonnenklar TV.
