Carabinieri 7 - Episodes Filmed Malta

Thanks to arrangements made through the MTA and Fidiafilm in February 2007, filming of two episodes of the popular Italian series Carabinieri have been filmed in Malta. The crew and cast numbering around 30 were in Malta between September 10 and 29 2007. The actual filming took place between September 18 and 28.

The filming was held in a number of locations: Comino, Birgu, Portomaso Yacht Marina, Birgu Yacht Marina, Mdina, Dragonara Casino and Malta Shipyards. Carabinieri which is screened on Italy’s main TV stations attracts between 5 and 6 million viewers. The main actors are Walter Nudo and Chiara Ricci, who both expressed a desire to return to Malta as tourists as their busy filming schedule has not allowed them the time to take in Malta’s beautiful sights and culture. Walter Nudo expressed the clear desire to see Caravaggio’s Beheading of St John at St John’s Co-Cathedral. Other renowned actors taking part are Fabio Sartor and Roberto Attias.

The episodes filmed in Malta will be aired in spring. The exact dates will be available later.
