Marc Almond, of Soft Cell fame, live at Eden Arena
80's music at the largest dance floor in Malta
Reflexmania consisted of a six hour show of 80’s music, lights and sound as the Eden Arena was turned into the largest dance floor on the island. Marc Almond's live performance was followed by DJ Alex Grech who churned out all the 80's classic hits till the early hours of Sunday Morning. His set list included music from New Romantic and Electronic 80’s groups which were around during Soft Cell times such as Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Ultravox and more. These blended perfectly with other tunes from Wham, Madonna, A-HA and more which were played by the Reflex DJ Gang.
Marc Almond sang most of his hits during the Soft Cell days such as the No 1 Hit Single Tainted Love which was one of the most selling singles in the 80's. Other Soft Cell hits were Bedsitter (UK No 4), Torch (UK No 2) and What (UK No 3). His set also included his single Something Gotta Hold Of My Heart which shot to the UK No 1 spot in 1989 as a duet with Gene Pitney. In addition Marc Almond performed hits from his solo career and tracks from his new album Stardom Road, released this summer.
