Air Malta
Air Malta will be commencing operations from two new routes in the coming days. The inaugural flight from Liverpools John Lennon Airport (KM157) will arrive in Malta on Friday the 4th of May. The Liverpool route will be operating twice weekly, on Fridays and Mondays. The national airline will also begin operating from Venices Marco Polo airport (KM657) twice weekly, as of the 4th of May, on Mondays and Fridays too.
Germanwings

German Low cost carrier GermanWings announced that it will retain its summer schedule even through the winter months. The original agreement, initially intended to run for seven months, has now been extended to 12 months. This means that the airlines twice-weekly flights from Stuttgart and twice-weekly flights from Cologne will be extended at least until March 2008.
Ryanair
Low cost carrier Ryanair announced that it will be commencing thrice-weekly flights from Bremen, Germany, as of the 25th of September. The flights from Bremen (FR3608), will be operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Ryanair are also expected to be announcing new routes to Malta in the coming days, which will augment the routes that the Irish LCC already operate to Malta from Luton, Pisa, Dublin and, shortly, Bremen.
British Airways

The British Airways' maiden flight from Manchester, BA 6822, landed in Malta on the first of May with 168 passengers on board (90% capacity). The BA flights to and from Manchester will be operating on a daily basis. Awaiting the passengers on the inaugural flight were officials from the Malta Tourism Authority, accompanied by a welcoming brass band and hostesses dressed in traditional costumes, who distributed flowers and honey rings to all the alighting passengers.
