Successful Malta stand at IMEX Fair - Frankfurt

The 100 square meter Malta stand at the IMEX fair in Frankfurt, held between the 17th and the 19th of April, was a veritable hive of activity, with Maltese trade representatives and overseas buyers mingling incessantly during the three days of the fair, meeting, discussing and negotiating at this, one of Europes most important CIT fairs.

The Malta stand, very centrally positioned and visually striking, was also a perfect venue for holding meetings in a more informal setting, with refreshments and Maltese nibbles provided throughout the day. The buyers were mostly from European markets, a number of whom were brought over by leading CIT companies and publications. Business, evidently, was quite brisk with some buyers even putting in requests for the last quarter of the year.

For the second year running, the Malta Tourism Authority, together with leading German MICE publication TW, organised a Malta Blue night at the DACHCAFE in central Frankfurt. This event was well received by the many invitees present, especially due to the fact that live music entertainment was once again provided by the brilliant band Precious a group thats guaranteed to bring even those with two left feet out on the dance floor.

If the feedback from the trade is anything to go by, IMEX 2007 was an extremely positive experience for most all of the Maltese trade representatives An experience which, one hopes, will also reap the desired benefits in the not-too-distant future.

IMEX is the essential worldwide exhibition for meetings and incentive travel. In 2007 3,300 exhibitors attended from 150 countries representing national and regional tourist offices, major hotel groups, airlines, destination management companies, service providers, trade associations and more. Over 3,500 hosted buyers from 57 world markets visited IMEX 2007, contributing to a total of 8,300 visitors for the show's busiest three days ever.

MTA participated for the 5th time and shared the booth with this time 30 co-exhibitors from Malta.
