Winter tourist figures up by 7%
Between November 2006 and March 2007, total tourist departures amounted to 291,582, an increase of 7.1% or 19,349 additional tourists when compared to the same period a year ago.More at: 0705pr23.

Successful Malta stand at IMEX Fair - Frankfurt
The 100 square meter Malta stand at the IMEX fair in Frankfurt, held between the 17th and the 19th of April, was a veritable hive of activity, with Maltese trade representatives and overseas buyers mingling incessantly during the three days of the fair, meeting, discussing and negotiating at this, one of Europes most important CIT fairs.More at: 0705pr1.
MTA sets up security CCTV systems at top diving sites
The Malta Tourism Authority has just completed the installation of CCTV systems at Malta’s Top dive sites, namely: Cirkewwa, Valletta (the Maori) and Wied Iz-Zurrieq. The aim of this exercise is to substantially help reduce theft and other similar crimes which, in recent years, have been reported to be on the increase at these popular diving sites.More at: 0705pr13.

Timeshare Touts – Enforcing the rules

Jules Verne luxury cruise ship on maiden visit to Malta
The Jules Verne, Vision Cruises' luxury cruise ship, made its maiden call to Malta on the 1st of May. A 12-piece village brass band and flower girls, together with officials from the Malta Tourism Authority and the Valletta Waterfront, were on hand to welcome the visitors.
